All matches will be held at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre, Kilbirnie.


MATCH DAYS/TIMES

Matchdays will be confirmed closer to the competition start date. In 2025/2026, matches will run either side of the Christmas break.

PLAYER REGISTRATION

Registrations Open | Monday 1 September
Registrations Close | Midnight Sunday 21 September  

There will be 48 players drafted across the 4 teams (subject to player registrations). There is no limit on the number of players that can register and make themselves available for selection.

Anyone aged 16 and above can register for the Capital Futsal Men’s Premier Draft League.

PAYMENT

Invoices for the $165 player registration fee will be generated once the league gets underway. ​​​​​​​

Coaching expressions of interests will open in July 2025.

HOW DOES THE DRAFT WORK?

At the completion of the player registration window, appointed coaches will be provided with a full list of every player who has registered to carry out the draft selection process.

Coaches will select a total of 12 players for their team, two of which are goalkeepers (subject to registrations) using a ‘snake draft system’. In a snake draft, each team coach has one pick in each round (12 rounds). Each coach makes their first-round pick based on a predetermined order. When the first round is over, the coach that picked last in the first-round picks first in the second round — in other words, the draft snakes back on itself.

The drafted players must confirm their position in the team by Sunday 8 October. Once players have confirmed their position, they will be invoiced and payment must be made by 22 October.

  • Players who are not drafted can choose to be classed as 'Emergency Players'.
  • Emergency Players can be called into action to replace any player who suffers an injury, or illness but will only be available for that team for the remainder of the competition.
